Introducing EDGE’s program for young changemakers: Social Impact Catalyst powered by RBC Future Launch

Posted on October 20th, 2020

Throughout the pandemic, EDGE has continued to support a wide range of entrepreneurs and ventures virtually. With over half of our ventures identifying as social enterprises, we continue to support impact-focused entrepreneurship at a time when it’s needed more than ever.

This year has been one of disruptive change that has upended communities. The global coronavirus crisis has led to accelerated technology use, job market disruption and economic instability. These disruptive forces have exposed inequalities and made them more pronounced. Persistent systemic barriers impacting BIPOC communities have been highlighted and calls for overdue racial justice continue.

Given this context, EDGE is proud to announce a program that will incubate changemaking ideas.

Introducing the EDGE Social Impact Catalyst powered by RBC Future Launch

Launching in January 2021, the EDGE Social Impact Catalyst powered by RBC Future Launch will serve exceptional young changemakers whose projects or ventures tackle racism, inequity and systemic barriers.

Are you ready to take action on an idea supporting equity, inclusion and justice?

We’re looking for youth changemakers ages 15-29 who have an idea, project or venture that seeks to create a more equitable, inclusive and just society. Your project should address barriers that impact underrepresented communities like these.

This 14-week program offers exclusive benefitsParticipants will join an inclusive virtual community, receive training and expert mentorship, and be eligible for a $2000 honorarium.

“When young people build solutions that are relevant, meaningful, and designed for their communities, they’re more likely to have an impact that ripples across our region and beyond. Thanks to RBC Future Launch, we’ll be able to help more youth — both students and those from our community — explore their own entrepreneurial ideas and solutions.” — Renee Devereaux, Director, Entrepreneurship & Changemaking, EDGE

This program has been made possible with the generous support of RBC, a proud partner of Sheridan and EDGE.
