On April 6th, Sheridan’s HMC campus will play host to the Sixth Annual Pilon School of Business Case Competition. All Sheridan Business students are invited to compete, build skills, network, and have a great time.
Teams of two from various business backgrounds will be competing against one another. These teams will have time to analyze a business case and put together a power point presentation that includes, but is not limited to:
– Identification of a Problem
– Analysis of the Case (i.e. SWOT)
– Recommendation (how you are going to solve the problem)
– Rationale (why you think it will solve the problem)
Students may compete in two different business categories: Marketing and Human Resources. All teams will receive the same case via email a week in advance and have 72 hours to work with their partner to develop their solution. Teams must submit their final presentation saved on a USB key at check-in, which is 15 minutes before your presentation on Saturday April 6th. Any presentations received after this time will be disqualified. Teams will then present their solution to a panel of judges for 10 minutes and a 5 minute question and answer period on Saturday April 6th.
There will be two divisions to compete in:
Novice: This division is for 1st and 2nd year students who have not competed in any case competitions while at Sheridan.
Advanced: This division is for 3rd and 4th year students, post-grads or students who have had experience with case competitions while at Sheridan.
There will be a winner declared from each division. The prize will be announced closer to the competition.
