February Breakfast for Champions

As February comes to a close, we would like to thank our members and all of those that helped make another successful month. We began February by celebrating Black History Month with Afro Caribbean Business Network at the Legacy Symposium, an amazing event empowering youth and celebrating black excellence. We were also excited to host another incredible Breakfast for Champions with Valerie Fox as our special guest. Our members were able to discuss some of the barriers they are facing and share valuable advice with each other.

Program Labs for Our Members

Carol Bureau, Sheridan College’s professor and a member of our mentor network, together with Chris-Beth, Program Lead at EDGE, facilitated our Find Your Fans workshop for our Leap members. Our members were able to learn and discuss topics such as market segmentation, primary and secondary research and understanding the marketplace. This month, Explore members learned about developing their value proposition through our workshop Look Before You Leap.

EDGE at Davis Campus

At Davis campus, we have been developing awareness about the resources we offer to entrepreneurs, through our community outreach sessions Advisors Without Borders, Startup Circuit and the International Entrepreneurship Lunch and Learn. It’s been a remarkable month at Davis campus, with high engagement from students and community members. We’re excited to be part of the large entrepreneurial community at Davis and will continue to develop engaging, value driven events.

Social Enterprise Programming

This February we have hosted four sessions; Legal Structures for Social EnterpriseStories from the Frontlines of Social EntrepreneurshipMapping Social Enterprise Ecosystems and Evaluating Impact of Your Social Enterprise as part of our Social Enterprise Programming series. The special guest facilitators brought incredible industry knowledge and provided powerful learning outcomes for attendees. We’re looking forward to the rest of our Social Enterprise Programming and encourage you to check them out.

We look forward to more exciting events and opportunities in March that inspire and support the entrepreneurial community!

Thank you all for another amazing month!
